We're back again and finally have a chance to interview one of hot rookie girl group P.O.P!
P.O.P is a South Korean girl group under DWM Entertainment consist of 5 member Haeri, Ahyeong, Miso, Seol and Yeonju. They debuted on July 26, 2017 with first mini album 'Puzzle of P.O.P'.
Let's getting know about them and take a look their interview with us below!
Q. Hi P.O.P, thank you for your time meeting us! Please introduce your group and the members :)
Seol: Hi everyone! I’m so happy to see you. We are new girl group called P.O.P. First of all, "P.O.P" stands for "Puzzle Of POP", which means a group of detectives who came together to solve the puzzle of pop music. Our group has Haeri the leader, Ahyeong the mom, Miso the queen of reaction, Seol the human encyclopedia and Yeonju the real disney character.
Q. To all members, what is your favorite song in 'Puzzle of POP'?
Ahyeong: ‘한걸음씩걷기(Walk One Step At A Time)’ is my best song. I loved the song when I was a trainee because of its beautiful melody and lyrics that everybody can empathize with.
Miso: It's 'memory', the only ballad song in our first album. Many fans, who had only seen our bright side, will be able to find out other attractive sides of us.
Haeri: It's definitely our first title, "Catch you".
Seol: My favorite song in the album “Puzzle of pop” is “Step by step”. This song is very bright and hopeful, which makes me happy.
Yeonju: 'Memory' is my favorite song in our album. 'Memory' is the only ballad song in our album. And I think it is the perfect song to show you our vocal colors in wonderful harmony. That’s why I choose it the best! ;-)
Q. What is the best moment for all members on the first day of P.O.P's debut?
Miso: It must be our first official broadcast stage, I guess. Although we practiced really hard, it was totally new experience because we were on the stage for the first time. And I was really happy that the stage I have dreamed since I was little finally turned into reality.
Haeri: During the showcase, my mom and my eyes met while I was telling my feelings about debut. So I cried so much.
Seol: Right after our debut stage, it felt weird in a good way. And I remember we shared our albums with other group who had their debut showcase at the same place with us and also made their first debut broadcast stage on the same day with us too. It was such a memorable moment.
Q. Who is your model? Is she/he inspired you to become an idol?
Ahyeong: My role models are Cha Jiyeon, Ock Joohyun (they are musical actresses) and Lee Hyori. Watching their stage performances, I hoped to have the power and energy they showed in my childhood. I, too, liked singing and dancing. That’s why I wanted to be a singer!
Miso: My role models are BoA and IU. I decided to become an idol after watching BoA's stage. So I'd like to be a singer who impresses other people like BoA did when I was little. I also mentioned IU as my role model, because I wanna become an artist who can express myself by doing many entertainment activities like composing, writing lyrics like her.
Haeri: Taeyeon of SNSD! I used to dance to the song "Into The New World" in front of TV when I was little.
Seol: My role model is Baekhyun of EXO. He has great talent on stage, and it is incredible that he is recognized as great solo and also a great member of the team.
Yeonju: My role model is Beyonce! It was her who got me interested in pop music. Listening to her songs I got more and more fascinated.
Q. Any other group / member of the group you guys are close or want to close with?
Ahyeong: I hope to get familiar with EXID's Hani sunbaenim, Sunmi sunbaenim and DreamCatcher sunbaenim!
Miso: Sunmi sunbaenim! >< We happened to be in the same rehearsal time for a music program when we debuted. Watching her performed on the stage, I was just overwelmed by her powerful energy and also very much touched when she warm-heartedly cheered me up!
Haeri: Chahee from MelodyDay who is my school classmate, and members of CLC who practiced with me, and Dajeong from Hashtag.
Seol: Personally, I am a huge fan of Red velvet. Therefore, I would love to have a chat with them. Also, I met Sunmi on the stage. She was very kind and charismatic with her performance. It will be my pleasure to get to know her. I often had a chat with members of DreamCatcher and they were so nice too.
Yeonju: Haseo from Real Girls Project and I are very close friends. And I am also close with LOONA's Kim Lip, too.
Q. Which song would you most like to cover? Your cover of 'Royals' was incredible!
Haeri: I would like to cover "Sorry Not Sorry" by Demi Lovato.
Yeonju: Recently I wanted to cover Christmas carols the most! But I don't know which song is perfect for me to cover. (Actually, I usually upload my cover song videos on our FAN CAFE! please join our cafe and enjoy them! ;-)

Q. Can you give us a little spoiler for P.O.P's upcoming comeback? :)
Seol: We are doing our best to show you new attractive aspects of P.O.P. So please keep your eyes on us!
Q. Do you have plans to produce or write your own music in the future? Any artist you'd like to work with?
Ahyeong: These days I am challenging in many other parts. I want to learn mixing music to make my own songs. And I have an experience of participating in O Broject's album as a narrator. But I hope to work with them as a vocalist, not just a narrator next time.
Miso: First, I’m interested in composing and writing lyrics. So I want to cheer up people and make them feel empathized with my songs as my songs will be made from stories of my own experiences.
Haeri: Yes. I have been always interested in composition, so I have been composing in my free time. I would like to try it with my friends.
Yeonju: YES!!! I really want to make my own songs later. And also want to learn producing. I wish I could have a chance to work with G-Dragon (sunbaenim ><) together someday!!!
Q. How do you feel knowing you have fans on the other side of the world?
Yeonju: Unbelievable! I think it’s a miracle that you guys love us!
Q. Which country you want to visit the most? Why?
Miso: England! I really really wanna visit Harry Potter studio.
Ahyeong: I’ve had no chance to travel abroad yet! I want to visit whole European countries, and hope to enjoy wonderful sceneries and night views with delicious foods!
Haeri: I would like to travel Japan. My first fan was Japanese. It was very memorable.
Seol: I really would like to visit China if we have any chance of tour, and USA or Thailand. But to be honest, it would be lovely to meet every one of our fans from all over the world.
Yeonju: If I had a chance to visit PARIS, I would be very happy! (I really want to see the Eiffel tower)
Q. What do you think you'd be doing if you weren't an idol?
Ahyeong: I entered college for acting and musical major! So I would be studying hard, participating in auditions and doing my best to be an actress.
Miso: I've never thought about that after I decided to be a singer. Maybe I would be enjoying my college life just like other ordinary students.
Haeri: I might have been working in music or fashion industry.
Seol: If I had not become an idol, I think I would have been working in the photography industry with my father who is a photographer. Or I might have been running a shopping mall since I am interested in clothes. Or maybe, I might have been studying construction of Hanok (Korean traditional housing) or design of Hanbok (Korean traditional clothing) that I liked since I was little.
Yeonju: I love animals so much! So I would be a specialist in animal care.
Q. What concept you want to try next? and which member you think fit the most with the concept?
Haeri: I would like to try sophisticated concept. I think Yeonju will go well with it.
Yeonju: Fancy concept. All of P.O.P members are well talented for that. I mean it!
Q. Who is the funniest member or mood maker in the group?
Haeri: All of our members are fun, but Ahyeong is the funniest member these days.
Yeonju: Actually all of P.O.P members are so-called “great mood makers.” We have a pretty good sense of humor and we know that it makes our team happier!
Q. Who has the best and worst fashion sense among the members? :)
Haeri: There are no fashion terrorist in our group. We all know how to dress well for ourselves.
Yeonju: I think all our members know which style is perfectly fit to us.
Q. What hair color do you want to try next?
Ahyeong: I've never had my hair colored brightly yet. So I want silver or blonde or orange for my new hair color!
Miso: All red or all ash or some highlights in my hair with any color!
Haeri: I would like to try bright, colorful hair, or dark hair.
Seol: I want to try bright blond or dark hair. Purple or baby pink hair would be fun too!
Yeonju: I want to have my hair colored brightly brown. (But not blonde)
Q. What is P.O.P's biggest goal in 2018?
Haeri: It would be so grateful if many people notice P.O.P this year.
Yeonju: To get the 1st prizes on music programs! We do believe think WE CAN DO THAT! ;-)
