Pop! Goes The World! is pleased to present, for the first time ever in North America, the loveable and melodic 6-girl outfit 여자친구 G-Friend! Without question one of the hottest new rookie groups in the South Korean pop music scene, they have skyrocketed to international stardom nearly overnight. The group debuted in Jan 2015 to much acclaim, and have gone on to 15 wins and awards on national television shows. Their latest single “Rough” even broke top 10 in worldwide sales at Billboard recently ‎GFRIEND are destined to make a major impact at‪ TKC16.

GFRIEND ( 여자친구) is a six-member South Korean girl group formed by Source Music in 2015. They made their debut with the EP Season of Glass on January 16, 2015. GFriend gained impressive scores on various music charts and music programs. They are also winners of several 2015 Female Rookie Awards and have garnered much attention since their debut due to their fantastic choreography, skillful moves and solid voices. 

On January 25, 2016, GFriend released their third EP titled Snowflake with the title track Rough. On the same day, in their comeback showcase, the fandom name of GFriend was revealed to be “Buddy”. GFriend started the promotions for Snowflake on January 26 on SBS MTV’s music program The Show. On February 2, GFriend received their first ever music show win on SBS MTV’s The Show. The next day, February 3, they won on Show Champion, on February 4, they won on M Countdown and on February 5, GFriend won on Music Bank. On Jan 6th they entered the Billboard World Top 10 sales charts alongside 2 other popular Kpop groups.

Girl group Lovelyz, GFRIEND and TWICE to appear on Weekly Idol Christmas special.

Weekly Idol side said, "Lovelyz, GFRIEND and TWICE to appear for Christmas special episode."

Accroding to the officials, on December 6th Lovelyz's Sujeong, Jisoo, Kei, GFRIEND's SinB, Yuju, Yerin and TWICE's Nayeon, Dahyun, Tzuyu has been participated in the recording of Weekly Idol Christmas special episode.

Weekly Idol Christmas special episode with Lovelyz, GFRIEND and TWICE will be aired on December 23rd through MBC Every1.

GFRIEND aiming early next year comeback with new album

GFRIEND are currently having a busy schedule for the year-end awards and the new album is expected will be coming out early next year.

On November 6th according to music industry officials, GFRIEND are preparing new album and aiming for early next year comeback.

GFRIEND seems to be preparing such a special stage for the end of the year awards ceremony. Last month they're received 'Rookie of the Year' award at the 2015 MelOn Music Awards (MMA) and they're preparing to finish the year well.

The official told Star News, "GFRIEND are preparing for a comeback next year." and, "GFRIEND put their effort in the new album to show good song and their lively performance."

GFRIEND's Sowon, Yuju & Eunha will take the college entrace exam this year

GFRIEND's Sowon, Yuju and Eunha will take the college entrace exam this year.

On November 6th according to the agency, 3 members of GFRIEND, Sowon, Yuju and Eunha are scheduled to take Collage Scholastic Ability Test 2016 (SAT 2016) on November 12th. Yuju and Eunha who were born in 1997 are in their last year at the Seoul Performing Arts High School. Meanwhile the leader, Sowon was born in 1995 and graduated from Hanlim Multi Arts High School last year also want to take the exam this year.

GFRIEND side said, "Sowon originally wanted to go to college but due to debut preparation she postpone it for a while." and "But there are 2 younger members, Yuju and Eunha who also will take the exam and they are prepared for the college entrace exam together."

GFRIEND's Eunha and BUFFY are a sweet couple for Pro C's new song 'Han River at Night'

Dating pictures of GFRIEND's Eunha and Pro C's BUFFY has been leaked through SNS.

Recently the photos of Eunha and BUFFY began to spread through SNS and gained some of the curiosity about what is their relationship. The photos were published with background at the Banpo Bridge in Han River. After a few hours, the photos is suddenly removed and netizen starting to speculate about this.

After all the speculate, Pro C's agency JTUNE Camp side revealed, "Prior to the comeback of Pro C, we published the official spoiler photos about their new song 'Han River at Night'" and, "Please look forward to Pro C's new song 'Han River at Night'."

GFRIEND responds after their latest slippery performance goes viral

GFRIEND have been filmed slipping over one-by-one during a concert in Seoul.

On September 5th, GFRIEND was performing at SBS PowerFM public broadcast in Inje, Gangwon-do. The members one-by-one falling 8 times while performing 'Me Gustas Tu' due to slippery stage caused by rain. One of the member Yuju fell down 5 times but always get up like nothing happened and continue the performance until the end.

The fancam of GFRIEND's performance led to a big topic in the foreign press such as US Time Magazine, Billboard, UK Daily Mail and more.

On September 9th GFRIEND told isplus, "That day it was raining a lot and so many members who fell during performing. We talk to each other after that."

After that they responds to the video, "We did our best for the audience there. Any singer would have been hard to do so, thank you for your interest." they said.

They added, "Now we feels bewildered. Thank you for worrying us. We will working harder in the future."

SPICA's Jiwon, GFRIEND's SinB and more to appear on MBC children's musical drama 'Larva and Friends In My Arms'

SPICA's Jiwon and GFRIEND's SinB to appear on popular animated character Larva children's musical drama.

On August 8th MBC said, 'Larva and Friends In My Arms' will begin to broadcast from August 11th at 2.30PM KST.

Korean's idols such as MBLAQ's Mir, SPICA's Jiwon and GFRIEND's SinB also will take a part on this show. It is expected the Korean's children program will aimed at the global market.

SPICA's Jiwon will be play as butterfly, SinB as grasshopper and Mir as longevity long-horned beetle. There is also a corner for children learning english through songs and dances. Alphabet friend 'Young Teacher' who played by foreign actor Joey also appear to teach english for children.

GFRIEND releases 'Flower Bud' teaser image

GFRIEND confirmed their comeback with 2nd Mini Album 'Flower Bud'.

On July 10th, GFRIEND released the first teaser image through their official facebook page with title 'coming soon! 2nd Mini Album 'FLOWER BUD' Teaser Image'.

 Group and individual teaser image of each member with the background of dreamy forest showed the pure charms of GFRIEND.

GFRIEND 2nd mini album 'Flower Bud' title track is produced by Lee Ki Yong who also composed their debut single 'Glass Bead' in January. The new song is expected to long last a long time in music chart just like 'Glass Bead'.

Source Music agency said, "The comeback song packed the shy confession with a unique charm of youthful and vitality. Debut song 'Glass Bead' received a lot of love, we're preparing this album with a great care please expect a lot."

GFRIEND 2nd mini album 'Flower Bud' will be released on July 23rd and they will sets out a full-fledged activity.
